When I first started in the industry many years ago, one of the biggest challenges I had was to get real estate listings and sell them quickly. You can have all of the great skills in the world but if you don't know where to find buyers. It's a chicken and egg scenario really. If you don't show the buyers what they want, they will go looking for you without you won't get any clients. If you show the buyers what they want, they will go looking for you will have lots of clients.
So how did I sell my first few real estate listings? I found an amazing listing agent from usahomelistings.com/named Ron Kirby, who handles all of the deals in Palm Desert. I asked him to help me get started. Below are some things that I did to sell my first few listings fast.
First, I shopped around for some pocket listings. Most agents won't tell you about these because they don't make any money on them. If they do give them away, they don't give them to the top agents or they charge a lot for them. So I shopped around and found some very good pocket listings. Second, I told my new agent about my new finds and he got to work. I showed my clients all of the real estate listings that I had found and told them about the agents that handled them. Then I asked my new friend to get listings from different agents and asked her to give me feedback. What a difference she made.
Third, I am using social media marketing now to get leads for my clients. I have so many clients and friends that are interested in Palm Desert real estate that I feel like I can always find someone to connect with who is a buyer. This way, I am always able to get leads. I also use a bunch of social media websites, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. to post my latest Palm desert listings, my latest deals, etc.
Fourth, I am using a multiple listing service. This is great because now I do not need to pay to have my own real estate agent. I pay a monthly fee to be a member of Multiple Listing Service, but the broker fees are minimal. So if I want to post a property quickly, and I want to know what's going on, I will use MMS.
